Does my child need to bring anything?

You will need to supply lunch, snacks and water for your child during camp.  Unless indicated in the camp description, Terrific Scientific provides all science/technology supplies. You may wish to purchase a t-shirt, but that is optional.

I want to enroll my child, but did not get a flyer. What do I do?

All camps are listed on this website. Please click on the “Register” button at the top or bottom of the page to view our programs. If you have further questions, you can always call 704-774-3016.

What do we mean when we say inquiry-based learning?

Science is, by its nature, inquiry based. Inquiry is an approach to learning that utilizes discovery and scientific thinking processes to explore and learn knowledge and skills. In order to achieve this, facilitators of inquiry based learning must create an environment rich with experiences that allows learners to act on their own curiosity. Youth need experiences that will stimulate their thinking and provoke questions (inquiry). Such experiences will help develop logical thinking abilities.

Is there a theme for each session?

Yes! We offer over 40 different themed camps designed for a variety of age levels!

How many children do you accept in your camp?

Our summer camps have a maximum ratio of 10:1 campers per counselor. Each camp may enroll up to 18 campers.

Who are your camp counselors?

Our team consists of a mix of teachers and college students from the fields of education, engineering, science, art, psychology and technology, and bring a set of unique experiences that will enrich and inspire our young scientists. We perform background checks on all of our staff ages 18 and over.

What is your cancellation policy?

Camp tuition is NONREFUNDABLE. Upon written request at least one week prior to scheduled camp, cancellations will be credited to your account for future use. Credits expire at the end of the following summer. All registration cancellations not used in the current summer will incur a $25.00 fee to cover our administrative costs.

In the event a camp currently in session is cancelled midweek due to COVID-19, a prorated credit will be issued for the unperformed portion of the camp session. Cancellations prior to start date will be refunded only if Terrific Scientific cancels the camp.

No refunds or credits for missed days or missed partial days.

Upon request at least one week prior to scheduled camp, camper may transfer to a different week without charge if space is available.

Do you refund for days my child misses due to illness or other appointments/activities?

No, we do not.

Help! I need your Tax ID number!

No problem!  You can find it listed on your email confirmation for any camp registrations.
