ArcadeCAMP: (Grades 2-5)
Cost: $350/5-day camp. Unleash your creativity and explore the world of game development using Scratch! Campers will dive into the world programming as they design and build games inspired by classics like Pong, Frogger, Snake, and Tetris, then use those skills to bring their own original game ideas to life. Along the way, they’ll experiment, problem-solve, and discover how code turns ideas into playable games. Whether you’re brand new to coding or already have some experience, this camp offers a fun, engaging way to explore computer science and game design. Participation in Coding & Game Design is recommended, but not required to register.
7/20-24
Coding & Game Design: (Gr. 2-5)
Cost: $295/4-day camp. Campers discover the basics of programming using Scratch while thinking creatively and solving problems. They’ll use colorful drag-and-drop code blocks to program characters (sprites) to move, speak, play music, and interact with one another. Along the way, campers learn core computer science concepts like sequences, loops, conditions, variables, and functions as they create animated stories, artwork, a virtual pet, and games such as Hide and Seek and Pong. Campers will bring their projects home on a flash drive to share with family and friends and continue improving them at home. This camp is perfect for campers who love to create and want to explore the world of coding.
6/15-18
Javascript Studio: (Gr. 4-7)
Cost: $350/5-day camp. JavaScript Studio is a creative coding camp for students ready to move beyond block-based programming and start building with real code—without it feeling overwhelming. Using a guided, video-based coding platform designed for tweens, campers learn JavaScript by creating. As they code, campers build games, animations, graphics, visual effects, short videos, and even their own memes. Code and results appear side-by-side, so students instantly see how their changes affect what’s on the screen—making abstract concepts click in a visual, satisfying way. Counselors support campers as they learn core programming concepts such as sequences, variables, functions, arguments, and objects, while encouraging creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving. This camp builds confidence, logical thinking, and real-world coding skills in a format that feels approachable, engaging, and fun.
7/13-17
Minecraft 3D Supreme: (Grades 3-7)
Cost: $295/4-day camp :: $350/5-day camp. Designed for campers experienced with the Minecraft fundamentals, this camp dives deep into Minecraft’s end-game content. Campers will explore End Cities in search of Elytra wings, protect villages from raids, and take on powerful bosses to build Beacons. These advanced goals require strategy, teamwork, and skill, making this camp perfect for experienced players ready to go beyond the basics and become true Minecraft champions.
A Minecraft account is not required for this camp, as licenses are provided for camp use. Campers may use their own account if they bring their login credentials. Cost: $350/5-day camp. This is an immersive camp for creative campers who love storytelling, world-building, and video games. Campers learn how classic 2D role-playing games are designed as they create their own original RPG—complete with characters, dialogue, maps, quests, and enemy encounters. Inspired by classic games like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest, campers design playable worlds in a traditional top-down 2D style. They build maps and zones, develop characters and storylines, and create custom items, weapons, and encounters that bring their game worlds to life. Using RPG Maker VX Ace, campers work with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface and built-in tools that allow them to focus on creativity, logic, and game structure rather than wrestling with complex coding, building confidence as designers and problem-solvers. By the end of the camp, campers export a playable version of their game that can be shared with friends and family. A great next step after Scratch for campers interested in game design and how games are structured before moving into text-based coding like JavaScript.
